Petrotrin employee Vidya Deokiesingh resigned from the Lake Asphalt Board earlier this week, Energy Minister Franklin Khan confirmed yesterday.

Give me ah break!
Top-ranked, senior attorney at law Anand Ramlogan SC has been charged because head of the Police Complaints Authority, David West, says that he (Ramlogan) attempted, in essence, to prevent him from giving evidence in a case involving Dr Keith Rowley. For those who do not know Mr West, he is the same man who said that “the Police Service is the biggest gang in Trinidad and Tobago…”
More than two years and five months later, Mr West and the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) which he leads, has only now seen it fit to produce a report of its investigations into the Day of Total Policing. Prior to this report there were many calls for West to step down, including those of trade unions and Police Social and Welfare Association.
Now, the president of the Retired Police Association of Trinidad and New York, Clayton Blackman, is on record as saying that the PCA had deliberately gone beyond its mandated boundaries by law. “I would say Mr West should immediately resign his position because he does not have a clue as to what he is doing,” Blackman is quoted as saying.
Returning to where I started, it is Mr West’s say-so that Ramlogan did so (attempt to persuade him to refuse to give evidence) which has resulted in Ramlogan being charged. At the end of the day, it took the relevant authorities less time to investigate and charge Mr Ramlogan than it did for West and the PCA to complete an investigation and report into the day of total policing.
Mr Ramlogan, a former attorney general, was also charged with misbehaviour in public office. Yet, not a single person has been charged in the ferry-gate scandal, the Clico fiasco or the HCU fiasco. In the meantime, life has been going on for everyone else in T&T.
Top office holders, including the President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice (and the list goes on), are flying planes (travelling abroad) more than they are being chauffeured locally at a time when everyone else is being forced to tighten their economic belts. Ministers and top serving officials have found it fashionable to run up roaming charges on their phone bills. They are not accountable in any way.
Trinidad and Tobago is now the geographical lagoon wonder of the world. The rivers and other waterways are over-grown with bushes and clogged with rubbish and virtually all areas and locations in the land are flooding on a daily basis. Take Santa Cruz as an example.
Life is so sweet in T&T that citizens have now chosen to embrace their mortality in a more radical and extreme manner. Consequently, dead bodies are piling up in sweet T&T.
Minister of Energy and PNM party chairman Franklin Khan has said that he does not know what a “financier” of the PNM is as the PNM raises its own funds. The Prime Minister never understands what all the fuss is about in the country because there is a standing order that the UNC is to blame for everything. Cash in your problems there.
A citizen of Ghana has been sworn in as a Minister of T&T over and above Trinidadians. He was even sworn in a second time. This is all cool.
Speed and expedition in charging some whilst all else fails and all others are allowed to get away.
